Alaska Airlines will soon be flying an Airbus A321 painted in the colors of the San Francisco Giants baseball team.

The Seattle-based carrier announced the news Wednesday as it detailed an agreement to become the official airline of the team for the next seven years.

The move also underscores Alaska Airlines’ attempt to win over the San Francisco market following its acquisition of hometown carrier Virgin America in a deal that closed late last year. Alaska Airlines’ new pact with the Giants extends a deal that had been in place with Virgin America.

"Our commitment to San Francisco and our Bay Area employees has never been stronger and, as part of that, we're thrilled to extend the Giants sponsorship for the next seven years," Andrew Harrison, Alaska Airlines' chief commercial officer, said in a statement.
